Call for Submissions ( 15 July – 15 August 2026)

Dear all,

The AIT Library, in collaboration with the Library Committee, is pleased to invite eligible students and recent graduates to participate in the Student Research Poster & Pitch Competition, one of the featured events of Library Day 2026, to be held on 2 September 2026.

This competition offers an opportunity to showcase your research, communicate its significance to the AIT community, receive valuable feedback, and compete for attractive awards.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Be a current AIT Master’s or Doctoral student, or a recent graduate who graduated in May 2026 or July 2026.
  2. Submit an original research project conducted at AIT, such as a Thesis, Dissertation, Research Study Project Report (RSPR), Special Study Project Report (SSPR), or any other research project submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for an AIT degree.
  3. Have completed research beyond the proposal stage with sufficient results to support both a research poster and an oral presentation. Research proposals are not eligible.
  4. Submit one research poster only.
  5. Be available to present the poster in person during the Final Competition on Library Day 2026 (2 September 2026).

Submission Process

Round 1: Research Summary Submission

Submission Period: 15 July – 15 August 2026

Applicants are required to submit a research summary in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or PDF (.pdf) format.

Formatting Requirements

1. 1,000–1,500 words (including tables and figures, excluding references)
2. Times New Roman, 12-point font
3. Single line spacing
4. 2.54 cm (1-inch) margins on all sides

Additional Information

1. The Research Summary should be prepared to align with the format and content of the final research poster.
2. The Research Summary will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
– Research content
– Research methodology
– Results
– Originality
– Research impact and significance
3. Figures, tables, and illustrations may be included where appropriate to support the research findings.
4. References should be relevant and presented using a consistent citation style.
5. An optional QR code may be included to provide access to a full paper, thesis/dissertation, institutional repository, project website, or demonstration video.
6. The visual design, layout, and formatting of the Research Summary will not be considered during the preliminary evaluation.

Final Round: Poster Submission and Research Pitch

The Top 10 finalists will be announced on 26 August 2026.

Each finalist will receive the official poster template and preparation guidelines and may revise the poster based on the submitted Research Summary while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the research.

Each finalist will be required to:

    1. Prepare and submit a research poster using the official template. (27–29 August 2026)
    2. Display the research poster during the Final Competition on Library Day 2026 (2 September 2026). The Library will handle the printing of all finalist posters and arrange the poster exhibition.
    3. Deliver a 5-minute research poster pitch highlighting the significance, methodology, key findings, and impact of the research during the Final Competition on 2 September 2026 (1:00–2:00 PM).
    4. Participate in a question-and-answer (Q&A) session with the judging panel.

Further information: 

Further details, including the poster submission deadline, presentation schedule, and other competition arrangements, will be provided to the finalists after the announcement of the preliminary results.
