Please be informed that from 24 April to 7 May 2026, the AIT Library will extend its opening hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 AM to support the final examination period.
The library will be closed on the following public holidays:
- 1 May 2026 (Labor Day)
- 4 May 2026 (Coronation Day)
In response to the high demand for group study rooms during this period, the library will implement a check-in and access control system, effective from 24 April 2026, to ensure fair access, reduce no-shows, improve room utilization, and enhance security, as follows.
Check-in and Room Access
- Please check in at the Service Desk before entering the room.
- Collect your room key from the staff.
- Staff will verify user IDs for online bookings or enter user IDs into the system for walk-in bookings.
- At the end of each booking period, please return the room key to the Service Desk.
Note:
- If the User IDs do not match the reservation, staff may deny access.
- Staff will remind you at least 5 minutes before your session ends.
Booking Requirements
- Rooms number 1–10, 13–15: Minimum 4 user IDs
- Rooms number 11–12, 16: Minimum 8 user IDs
Note:
- All users must be current AIT students, faculty, or staff.
- For all bookings (online or at the counter):
- The primary user must enter their ID in the “Student/Employee ID No.” field.
- Additional users must be listed in the “NOTE (User IDs)” field.
Attendance and Room Use
- If you do not check in within 15 minutes, your booking will be canceled and released to others.
- Rooms must remain occupied during the reserved time. If a room is left unattended (e.g., users leave for lunch or other activities), the reservation may be canceled and reassigned to others.
- If the booking is canceled and the room is still available, users who wish to use the room please contact staff at the Service Desk.
- If the room is available and there are multiple group requests, priority will be given to users who have not yet used the room on that day.
Adding More Users
- Additional members who wish to join the group must contact staff at the Service Desk before entering the room.
- Additional users must obtain approval from the primary user (verified by staff).
- If approval is granted and the total number of users does not exceed the room capacity, staff will update the system and grant access.
Group Study Room Capacity
- Room No. 1–10, 13–15 accommodate a maximum of 7 users.
- Room No. 11–12, 16 accommodate a maximum of 10 users.
Noise: Please note that the group study rooms are not fully soundproof. Please keep noise at a level that does not disturb others.
Personal Belongings: Personal belongings should not be left unattended. The library is not responsible for any loss or damage. Unattended items found in the reading areas may be removed, recorded, and kept at the Circulation Desk for security. Owners may contact staff to retrieve their belongings.
